Welcome to The Apple Rooms at Houghton Lodge Gardens
We have transformed a range of redundant calf sheds to six bespoke en suite studio rooms, two are fully accessible. Each is named after a variety of apple growing in the walled garden.
We have furnished each room with antique furniture, some from our house and some bought at local auctions. Each room has a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, toaster, Grind coffee machine and fridge (but not an oven or hobb). The bathrooms have been designed with automatic lighting, a non-misting ‘smart’ mirror, heated floor and towel rail; Fluffy white towels and toiletries from The White Company.
There is a communal BBQ, lawn area with tables and chairs, cycle pod, and when the walled garden is closed in the evening you are welcome to use it. We can provide a luxury continental breakfast hamper and a get up and go breakfast basket. We give a voucher for free garden access during your stay and for early risers there is a riverside walk. We are very pet friendly!
We are fortunate that there are many places to eat in Stockbridge, 5 minutes by car, and The Boot Inn, a 10 minute walk away.
Apart from our gardens there are many interesting places to visit as we are 12 miles from Winchester, 15 miles from Salisbury, 8 miles from Romsey and 20 miles from Southampton. Stonehenge is about 40 minutes away depending on the traffic!

is one of our largest studio rooms, with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Dominated by a handsome super king sleigh bed and beautiful roll top bath, the room is bright and fresh. The ensuite shower room has a waterfall shower and is fully accessible. The simple shaker style kitchenette is the largest of all our kitchenettes, brightly lit by two windows and provides space for basic self catering. This room can interconnect with the adjoining room-Cox’s Orange Pippin- to provide a fabulous two bedroom apartment sleeping 4. The room faces west across a grassy meadow away from the house and river in the peace and quiet of the Hampshire countryside.

Bathed in natural daylight, this inviting room has a handsome super king sleigh bed, a love seat sofa and beautiful roll top slipper bath. The ensuite shower room has a waterfall shower and is fully accessible. The simple shaker style kitchenette is brightly lit by two windows and provides space for basic self catering. Fearn Pippin

is really only available as a one night stay as it has a very limited view, mainly of the side of a shed. This is reflected in the price. If you would like to stay longer in Fearn Pippin please email us. Fearn Pippin is a cosy studio room with two generous single beds, which can also be joined together to create a sumptuous super king bed. A stylish, ensuite bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. The simple shaker style kitchenette provides space for basic self catering.
